MCDC- Arizona - 13 spotted, 13 apprehended by Border Patrol
August 21, 2008

Sector Chief after action report from the August 08 Muster -
Parker Ranch, Amado - Anvil Ranch, Altar.

 Thank you MCDC Volunteers,

To all of you who came to the Parker and Anvil ranches, Thank you for your time, effort and gas.

32 volunteers made it to the ranch. Conditions were primitive, it rained and stayed cool.

4 new volunteers were trained and worked the line.

Gnats and mosquitos were plentiful.

As usual everyone did their job and we got results.

Friday evening 13 IA's were spotted traveling north along the railroad tracks, Border Patrol was contacted,
MCDC volunteers lit them up, the group brushed up and all 13 were apprehended by Border Patrol.

Most of us worked the August 08 Muster on the Parker ranch near Amado, but several SART members
observed and scouted in the Altar Valley Friday and then joined us Saturday, after finding very little
activity in the Western side of the valley.

SART reported light traffic - 3 to 5 small groups and one large (15-20) in the past week.

Unfortunately another independent group was again operating on the Caballo Loco line and using
illegal tactics that are giving Border Patrol a real headache - we hope they do not taint the stellar
reputation gained by citizen groups who have worked effectively with Border Patrol for the past
6 years. There are so many other areas that these groups could patrol rather than clustering around
the operations of the MCDC.

On Friday our equipment transport crew observed and reported a single IA on SR 86 south of
Ryan field. We also observed a group of 13 on the East boundary of the Parker ranch on the
railroad right of way. This entire group was detained by Border Patrol including the Coyote.

Saturday Night a 'Pickup Car' was spotted on I-19 with IA loading, they were reported and
Border Patrol was in close pursuit at our last observation.

One IA was also sighted and reported on a freight car.

Sunday the equipment transport crew observed and reported two IA's 3 miles south of
Three Points. The traffic we observed on this muster was by far at the lowest level we
have seen in recent years. That is due to your diligence and perseverance. As usual
all contact we had with Border Patrol personnel were professional and appreciative
of our help.

We also hosted a video and still camera crew with reporters from the Las Vegas Sun.
They left with a more positive attitude toward the Minutemen and the Border Patrol.
Their article appeared Monday, I believe it was 'Fair and Balanced'.

Winning the West:
Minutemen claim softer side
Defenders of U.S. border say they're compassionate,
even save illegal immigrants' lives

Near Amado, Ariz. - The Minutemen want you to know they are humanitarians,
and they can be quite persuasive.
They say they are not vigilantes or racists. They understand the impulse to come to America,
to feed a family. They might do it themselves if they were Mexican.

Leimert Park Raided to shut down signature gathering for Jamiel's Law - L.A. Government Mafia at Work to Protect Criminals

VILLARAIGOSA MAFIA TERRORIZING BLACK COMMUNITY

Walter Moore said:
Shame on whoever authorized and instituted this attack on Constitutional rights. Remember the First Amendment? Peaceable assembly? Freedom of speech? Petitioning the government for redress?

This makes it official that L.A. is a Third World county. Sending police to harass political opponents is a move you'd expect from a dictator, not an American city hall.

The following is a blog account of Sunday's Villaraigosa Gestapo tactics:

Sunday, August 17th, the Los Angeles Police Department (Southwest Division), Sanitation Department, Parking Enforcement, General Services, the Health Department, Motorcycle Officers and a Helicopter, raided Leimert Park located on the corner of 43rd Place and Crenshaw Blvd. Leimert Park is a well-known park in the black community.
Every Sunday, The Shaw Family and supporters of Jamiel's Law, come to Leimert Park from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., to get signatures to put Jamiel's Law on the March 3, 2009 ballot. We have our Jamiel's Law T-shirts on and we have Jamiel's Law petitions. We started doing this June 29th and we have been there every Sunday.

We usually barbecue and give away free hot dogs, chips and sodas, as a way of saying, "Thank You", to the people supporting us. But today, the family had a party for Thomas (the younger brother of murdered victim, Jamiel Shaw, II), at a different location, so we just had drinks and chips for the kids.

Suddenly, the park was surrounded with Los Angeles Police Officers. Some in plain clothes and some in uniform. Atleast 7 or 8 black and white cars and a couple of police vans, if not more. They started with our family. Asking for identification and asking for our social security numbers. We showed our identification, but we refused to give our social security numbers to the Police Officer. The officer was not happy with this and said, "You know, I could give you a ticket for blocking the sidewalk".

We did have a table up against a fence, with plenty of room to walk. We told the officers, "We're here to get signatures to put Jamiel's Law on the March 3, 2009 ballot. We'll move our table to the inside of the fence". He said we couldn't do that. His words were, "you can't get signatures in a public park". So we said, "we'll talk to people as they walk by". According to the same officer, "You can only get signatures going door to door"!
One of the officers refused to give us his business card. However, another officer did hand us his card and he told us, "Many officers do support what you all are doing, but this is very political. 'They', are trying to shut you guys down. I hope you get the signatures you need". A third officer told us this raid was planned a week ago. He said, "We're just following orders, it's not us".

Then the Health Department walks up and tells us that we cannot give away water, soda and chips without a permit. We had about 4, 6 packs of water and sodas and small bags of chips. They told us, "load it up". Then the trash truck shows up ready to haul everything away. If that wasn't enough, the helicopter comes and hovers over the area. You would think we were criminals.

In addition to all of this, the City will not open the restrooms in the public park. It's true! They lock us out. We're forced to leave the park and go use the restrooms at one of the fast food restaurants. We have to fight and complain just to get the City to open the restrooms and we're still being ignored. Yet the City Council members bend over backwards to approve a restroom facility for day laborers at Home Depot.
We're shocked by all of this! The first time they raided the park I wasn't able to get pictures. I forgot the camera at home and forgot that I have a camera on my cell phone. Although I was able to get pictures after all, because did I mention two hours later they raided the park again?!
I wonder how much did all of this cost the City of Angels?

Please help collect signatures for Jamiel's Law

MCDC Search and Rescue Operation In Cochise County

Stunning new video from the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps Operations shows how a completed fence and citizen patrols coupled with the U.S. Border Patrol are stopping Illegal Aliens and Drug Traffic in Arizona.
Against endless waves of open border lobbying, and a constant barrage of nay-saying criticism and media distortions, the Minutemen simply continue on their mission-to secure the border of these United States. We will not be distracted, and we will not be dissuaded. While the alliance of critics devote all their time and resources seeking to destroy U.S. security and erase our border, Minuteman Civil Defense Corps volunteers stand strong in the gap to fortify, build, increase and improve border security for our country.

Bob Barr, Tom Tancredo, Alan Keyes and Chuck Baldwin to speak at Minutemen's DNC rally

DENVER (Map, News) - Activists who want to use the military to secure the nation's borders plan to rally on the opening day of the Democratic National Convention.
Representatives of both Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr and U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo confirmed Wednesday that they would speak at the event organized by the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. Tancredo ran for the Republican presidential nomination on anti-illegal immigration platform.
The group said former presidential candidate Alan Keyes and Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin will also speak.
Minuteman president Chris Simcox said it seems both Barack Obama and John McCain are avoiding the issue of illegal immigration during their runs for the White House. He said his group wants them to pledge to adopt their plan to use members of the 25,000 National Guard to secure the nation's border with Mexico and Canada as well as beef up Coast Guard patrols.

Ask Governor to Call a Special Session to Address Immigration-Reduction Legislation!

Dear Florida MCDC Volunteers,

The message below is from the National Coalition for Immigration Enforcement, an association of mostly Florida-based organizations including the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps that plans to extend its state and local immigration reduction efforts nationwide. The Coalition asks for your assistance in getting Florida Governor Charlie Crist to call a special session of the state legislature on immigration reduction.

Coalition organizations were thwarted in their attempt to get good legislation passed earlier this year when Speaker Mario Rubio prevented any bills from moving. This is a chance to put Governor Crist - a possible Vice Presidential candidate with close ties to Senator John McCain - on the hot seat. Even if he fails to call a special session, the media attention surrounding the "Petition Crist" drive will help bring immigration reduction back into the national spotlight in the weeks leading up to the Republican convention.

Please read the Coalition's notice below and consider signing a petition.

The National Coalition for Immigration Enforcement issues this URGENT ALERT!

Attention All Citizen Activists & Activist Groups Nationwide

THIS IS YOUR CALL TO ACTION!

Please send a petition to Charlie Crist

"The Sunshine State Desperately Needs Your Help Right Now!"

Activist groups from across Florida have joined together to petition Florida's Governor (Operation: Calm Before The Storm!) to call a Special Session of the Legislature to address, and pass, proposed bills that were SUPPRESSED from consideration this past spring by Florida's Speaker of the House, Marco Rubio!

And, although Florida's Governor has career aspirations that could take him far beyond Tallahassee, Floridian's and Americans alike, believe his first priority should be protecting his citizens against illegal immigration, before he moves on bigger personal objectives.

Here's what YOU can do to help.

Simply visit www.PetitionCrist.com to send a petition to Florida Governor Charlie Crist to demand that he "Do The Right Thing" for Florida's citizens, and America!

The petition process only takes seconds and every American can participate.

(If you experience technical difficulties with this petition process, simply email us directly at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it )

On behalf of the National Coalition for Immigration Enforcement, we thank you in advance for helping Governor Crist better understand the magnitude of the illegal immigration CRISIS, not just in Florida, but throughout America as well!

Thank you for your special effort in supporting our state on this critical initiative. We'll update you on Calm Before The Storm!, and advise you of when Operation: Line In The Sand!.. is ready to commence. Your participation makes an impact & it truly makes a difference!

Naco, Arizona New fence built right in front of MCDC fence on Richard Hodges' Ranch

OCTOBER BORDER WATCH -MAKE PLANS NOW!
We are gearing up for our semi-annual 30-day border watch. It's been a brutally hot summer and the combined effect of the heat, the slumping economy, new border fences, the SBI Net and new tactics by Border Patrol have all had an effect on the number of people crossing. Since May our border watch musters have noticed far fewer groups of illegal aliens in many areas and have adjusted our operations to work in new areas where we are seeing more traffic - but that does not mean they are not coming.

Regardless of what the illegal alien supporters are saying, enforcement is working! The real indicator will be this fall when the temps cool and the annual fall rush across the border begins -remember both McCain and Obama along with those who aid and abet the illegal invasion are telling the illegals just to be patient and wait it out because amnesty is coming, regardless of which man we elect as president.

We need to be ready to see just how many rush across to take advantage of amnesty lottery. We will be there to meet and greet them and provide assistance to Border Patrol. We will be working in a variety of areas here in Arizona and Texas volunteers will again be watching the river. California will spread out along the San Diego County border with Mexico.
Our Washington State volunteers will again be on the job near Bellingham, Washington.
Make your plans now to attend one of border operations.
Go to

JOIN US IN ARIZONA
August  15-17,  2008
FOR OUR 8TH 2008 MINUTEMAN MUSTER
AND FUN, FELLOWSHIP, PATRIOTISM

First, a heartfelt thank you to all who joined us at Three Points, AZ
for our July operation. We truly appreciate your dedication to serve
with us during the hot AZ summer months!
As you know, the politics of special interests still leave Border Patrol
under-manned, under-funded, and alone in the battle against Illegal
Immigration and increasingly violent drug smugglers. This country needs
you to be another line of defense.

You may be aware that the volume of traffic at the King Anvil ranch, our
HQ for the past several years, has dropped dramatically. This is due to
several things.

1. The fence at Sasabe.

2. More and experienced Border Patrol agents.

3. Closure of mountain passes Into the Altar Valley By Border Patrol.

4. Long term work by Minuteman personnel.

This drop in traffic has allowed us (at least temporarily) to respond to
request from other ranchers who have requested our help.

***Therefore, MCDC is requesting your presence August 15-17, 2008 at the Oswald Cattle Co. Dave Parker ranch Near Amado, AZ. 35 miles south of Tucson, to stand the lines once again for our 8th 2008 MINUTEMAN MUSTER.

Tucson MCDC Chapter growing in numbers!!!
The Tucson Chapter held it monthly meeting on Thursday July 31, 2008 at our new "home" of VFW Hall #4903.  We had 30 people in attendance and had a jam packed agenda for the evening that took us into overtime.  We had a large contingent of MCDC members from Green Valley in attendance as well as two MCDC members from the Phoenix metro area who made the drive all the way to Tucson.  We even had 4 potential new members in attendance.

Chuck Sturey was presented with his Completion Certificate for Eye-in-the-Sky training that he completed several months back.  Good work Chuck!!!   We had a very full compliment of guest speakers to round out the evening.  Our first guest speaker was Border Patrol Agent and Chaplain Jim Stout.  He brought all the updated "numbers" for both the Tucson Station and Tucson Sector.

The "stats" from the Tucson Station are: Apprehensions are down slightly from last year from 67,911 to 53,588, but the fiscal year does not end until September 30, 2008.  OTM's (other than Mexicans) has also dropped about 40% this year from last year.  The quantity of marijuana seized has gone up in 2008 by almost $6.5 million dollars worth so far.  Assaults on Border Patrol Officers has also gone up from 16 last year to 20 so far this year.  Border Patrol has noticed an increasing aggressive trend with the Illegal Aliens being encountered.  IA Deaths are down slightly below last year, but there are 2 more months to go in the BP fiscal year.  Agent Stout gave a great briefing and then answered numerous questions from the floor.  Thank again to Agent Stout!!!

Roger Plank announced the startup of Urban Operations here in Tucson and outlined some of the objectives.   More to be announced on this topic in the near future.  Tucson has become a Sanctuary City by default even though it has not made National news just yet.  We all need to become well versed on the Federal Laws concerning  "Harboring."  Now we just need to find someone to prosecute those crimes once uncovered!  http://www.fairus.org/site/PageServer?pagename=iic_immigrationissuecentersbcdd, http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/scripts/ts_search.pl?title=8&sec=1325

Roger Plank also announced plans to "adopt a highway" and asked for volunteers.  More volunteers are needed for this project.  Please contact Roger Plank at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for more details or to sign up.

Laura Leighton gave us an excellent report on 4 of the key Mexican hate groups so that we can all have a better understanding of who and what we are up against.  These groups are now using intimidation and legal threats to silence anyone who does not support their open borders agenda.  Thank you Laura for all your work putting that report together.  If you would like more information about those groups or to sign up for Laura's newsletter you can contact her at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Our tireless leader, Chris Simcox, rounded out the evening by giving us all a little history lesson on the origins of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corp and who many of the key players were along the way.  Chris is currently writing a book about his Minuteman adventure.  Chris stated that there are about 12,000 card carrying Minuteman members nationwide.  There are even 7 Arizona State Legislators who are also MCDC card carrying members.  Chris announced that there will be a Leadership Conference coming to Arizona soon.

Roger Plank will be looking for several people, from the Tucson Chapter, to help him organize and run the Chapter and who might want to attend that conference.  Chris also addressed the concerns of the members in attendance about the personal attacks, upon himself and MCDC finances, from former MCDC staff members.  Thank you Chris for clearing the air on those topics.

Other news that was brought up during the meeting:   Senator John McCain will be in Phoenix on August 22, 2008 at the American Legion.  Those that wish to attend can contact National Headquarters for further details.   We will be holding our August 2008 Muster in a new location.  On the weekend of August 15, 2008, we will be assembling near Tubac, AZ.  Look for a Muster blast to be coming from National soon about the details of this Muster event.

There are many Tucson Chapter Staff positions to be filled.  If your interested please contact Roger Plank This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for further details.   Carpooling to musters does not seem to be a very hot topic for our members, in these times of sky high gasoline and diesel prices.  We only had two persons sign up at our previous meeting and none at this meeting.  If you are interested in carpooling please contact Roger Plank at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   The next Tucson Chapter meeting will be on Thursday August 28, 2008 at 6:30 PM     Best regards,   Roger Plank
