JOIN US IN ARIZONAJanuary 23,24,25 2009FOR OUR FIRST 2009 MINUTEMAN MUSTERFOR FUN, FELLOWSHIP & PATRIOTISM
First, a heartfelt thank you to all who joined us on the border last year.
Declining traffic on the King's Anvil Ranch prompted us to look for other sites for line operations. We did musters at the Oswald Cattle Company (Dave Parker) Ranch, at Amado, AZ. SART people scouted large sections of the Arizona border scouting. We truly appreciate your dedication to serve with us during the hot AZ summer months and also the frigid winter.
Our latest scouting reports indicate that the traffic has increased on the Anvil ranch since the departure of 200+ BP agents who were returned to Texas. BP also states they expect a large increase in flow from Mexico in the last 2 weeks in January. (Home for Christmas traffic.)
In response we will hold our first Muster of the new year on:
January 23,24,25 at the Kings Anvil Ranch
500 miles of fencing has been completed and more miles are completed every month. We have the most Border Patrol agents ever to work in the field. We have moved military assets to the border in Texas and Arizona. This will be a make it or break it year for MCDC - we need to be aggressive in reporting what we are finding on the border. I predict with the economy and enforcement push Border Patrol's apprehensions will fall under the half a million mark for fiscal 2009. We need to be there to document the success we have all been working to achieve.
This month's schedule is as follows, and you must sign in one hour prior to shift time unless you need New Volunteer Training:* Friday, January 23rd 2:00 pm New Volunteer Training* 5:00 pm to Midnight Shift** (potential dusk to dawn shift- yet to be approved) Saturday, January 24th 2:00 pm New Volunteer Training* 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Shift 5:00 pm to Midnight Shift ** (potential dusk to dawn shift- yet to be approved) Sunday, January 25th No New Volunteer Training 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Shift * All volunteers attending their FIRST AZ muster must receive New Volunteer training prior to sitting post on a shift. If you want to volunteer during this weekend and are NOT a registered MCDC Volunteer, please visit our website at www.minutemanhq.com and register.
Current Volunteers: You must bring your ID card and wear it at all times. Please have with you a valid Arizona State Land Permit which expires one year from the month of purchase. Hunting and fishing licenses grant access to state land only when a person is in the actual act of hunting or fishing. For purchase or renewal of an AZ State land permit, please go to the following link, print the application, and mail it in right away, as it may take 2 weeks to receive. (Click on the link here): AZ LAND PERMIT
DIRECTIONS:
Directions take I-19 south from Tucson to Ajo highway 86 then West to Three Points (Robles Junction. Then left (South) on Highway 286 Mile to just past mile marker 38 (Sasabe highway). Ranch entrance is on the right.

WELL THE YEAR IS COMING TO A CLOSE FOR ALL OF US!
To close out the year we wanted to take a moment to reflect back on what happened in 2008 - it is a long read but we are sure you will enjoy it.

January started out with a bang we had dozens IA's coming out the woodwork even at camp! As it progressed into February, we kicked it off with our new Eye In The Sky in the 11-degree weather, and had to undergo the tragic auto accident of John's wife in the NorCal area and we were deep into the planning stages for Operation Secure America Now for the July 4th event. March blew in out of nowhere with really crappy weather, but lots of reportings from our folks in the field and more planning for the big event on July 4th went on.
April ushered in our 6th full month long muster in CA and attendance was great! We really made a big dent in the traffic in the area during April! In one haul we bagged 68 IA's on our property at 03:30 in the morning! Now talk about a real kick in the head fun & exciting time that was (well at least almost ALL) ! Thanks to all of you who spent so much time at camp, too bad the pay is really crappie! Well, at least we got the radios working again!. May came at us with the price of gas going sky high and folks loosing interest and burning out and had a rattlesnake training class at camp. We kept vigilant as we do and tugged on making reports to BP on the activity at camp and around our areas of operations. June brought in higher gas prices and a decline in people who could afford to make the drive to camp. We had presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin visit camp with his team and more planning went on behind the scenes for July 4th.

July! At last it is here! We were at camp for more than a week planning on the July 4th event, getting things organized and trying to finish the rock hauling for the "PIT"! July 4th was a moment to remember, one of those times you, which you had all your friends over to share it with! Or maybe you did! Camp was a blaze for the full week, and when July 4th came around, we were as busy as bees! As it turned out we had hundreds of great Americans turn out for the event and look forward to having it again in 2009! August hit us hard with gas prices well over $3.50/gal. But the faithful still came to camp and we kept putting a hurt on the bad guys, and the heat was a little warm! August was kicked of with our "If you build it they will NOT come" BBQ plan at the NEW fence in O'Neil valley to celebrate us being on the border for over 34 muster of which 6 were full long ones and over 180,000 minuteman hours of border security just in our area!
September came in just in time, more heat, and more IA's going north! October was ushering in the cooler season, but we did not get the word! However, the party at O'Neil turned out great! November saw many folks at camp, we had teams out in the field and working at camp to install the ceiling in the stagecoach to help keep it warmer and cooler. December was the last muster of the year, new folks have stepped up to do many of the camp activities like preparing food, field operations, communications, and we all appreciate that effort. December also brought a special Turkey dinner that Carl, Viki, Bea and others prepared for those of us in camp! The weather only got down to 36, but on Sunday morning, it dropped down to freezing and at 08:20 we got snow at camp!
As you can see, 2008 was a very memorable year, and we would like to have you down at camp with all of us to make more memories and do the job that the government refuses to do! So, make your plans for the year, check the schedule for camp musters online at www.campvigilance.com Make your reservations please for each muster you are going to show up for so we can plan on operations, & food for everyone! If you are a new MCDC member please contact us before attending musters at camp, we want your stay to be as best as it can!
This year our goal is to have 40-50 people at camp EACH month for musters! So you know we need your help in achieving this! The bad guys have not stopped, the fence has funneled them into different areas and our diligence is ever so persevering!
In 2009 our radio communications team will be improving our Comm's center and radio capabilities so we can get better coverage in the "Rocks". And remember if you are a registered MCDC member and have a RV or trailer, we will "Dry" store it free when you come to camp at least once every quarter!
Below are tasks we would like to fill with new faces, so if you are still above ground and kicking and want to make a difference in this effort come on down to Camp Vigilance and lend a hand or two! We need your support every month and you cannot find a better bunch of people to hang with!
If you are interested in working on any of these please send us a E-Mail to:
